Recycle Old Cans

July 20, 2019 | Recycling

Did you know that steel and aluminium cans are 100% recyclable without loss of material quality or properties?

It only takes about 5% of the energy to create a new product from recycled aluminium as from raw bauxite, and a used can could be recycled and back on the shelf in as little as six weeks.

Other household aluminium such as foil is typically combined with things like old road signs, and re-cast into engine vehicle components, while you’ll find recycled steel in anything from bike frames to train tracks and paperclips.

It’s the ultimate ‘closed-loop recycling’ product – and McIntyre’s systems can help in every stage of the process, from sorting and baling to cutting, shredding and ingot stacking. Find out more about our aluminium recycling services!
