All shows at ESS Expo are free to attend, but you’ll need to register! You can register online or on-site, then just collect your badge and you’re in.

The NEC is easy to reach – just a 10-minute train ride from Birmingham city centre, short walk from Birmingham International station, and well-connected by bus and coach

Is ESS Expo free?
Yes! CARS & MRE, along with ESS Expo and the co-located shows, are completely free – just register online or when you arrive.
Do I need to pre-book a ticket?
Not strictly. You can register on-site when you get to the event, but pre-booking saves time, and you can pick up your badge quickly when you arrive.
What are the event opening times?
Wednesday 17th Sept: 09:30–16:30
Thursday 18th Sept: 09:30–16:00
Which halls and shows are included?
You’ll be moving through Halls 6, 17–20, and the outdoor area, covering CARS & MRE (plus seven other sector-specific shows).
How many seminars are there?
Get ready for around 300 free-to-attend sessions (from 30 minutes to 2 hours long) covering key recycling and environmental issues!
Can I park at the NEC?
Yes! On-site parking is available and you can pre-book for a discount via the NEC site.
Is the NEC accessible?
Yes, the NEC is fully accessible, with disabled parking and facilities throughout. There’s even a multi-faith prayer room!
