Container Loaders and Unloaders At JMC Recycling

What are Container Loaders and Unloaders? Container Loaders and Unloaders, also known to many in the industry as Container Tilters are a category of specialist machinery designed to fill shipping containers with a variety of different materials such as grains, powders, liquids and scrap metal. Though loaders tend to take advantage of different methods, Container Loaders typically use powerful hydraulic systems to unload and load most standard ISO containers at maximum efficiency. MiTilt from A-Ward The MiTilt from A-Ward is one of the best Container Loaders available right now. Allowing containers either 20 or 40 feet in length to be tilted from 10-90-degrees. By loading the container from above using a crane, forklift or reach stacker, you have total control of the unloading process, turning a strenuous, multi-man job into a fast, single-operator task. In order to keep the whole process safe and secure, the MiTilt features reliable hydraulics and a safety-lock system, preventing any accidents or damage from happening during regular use - resulting in a safer process than any manual loading and unloading alternative. Read our case study on how MiTilt enabled Sims to load and export 500 tons of scrap into 20ft shipping containers. See The MiTilt in action on A-Ward’s YouTube Channel here. MiSlide from A-Ward There are many types of materials which may not be appropriate for a tilted container with the MiTilt. The MiSlide is specifically designed to help load materials which are typically trickier to work with such as; HMS steel non-ferrous materials baled plastics rubbish and waste recycled paper woods and logs palletised goods and many more The MiSlide is loaded via a track, which then separates a container into two compartments. By “sliding” along the container, [...]

How to maintain your recycling machinery for optimal performance

A good, high-quality piece of recycling equipment can last for many years, however, without proper maintenance and preventative measures, this can be shortened by a significant amount. In this blog, we’ll discuss some of the most important methods to help keep your equipment in great condition, allowing you to use your investment for many years to come. Always Keep Spare Parts It’s difficult to know when your machine will begin having onset issues, or fail completely. Because of this, it can be incredibly beneficial to keep a selection of spare parts on hand. You should store standard spare parts of any machine you operate, ready to be replaced in case of equipment breakdown. For rarer, or more expensive parts, it’s always worth keeping a point of contact with your supplier in case you need to order a replacement part. Check Your Equipment Daily Performing regular maintenance checks on your equipment can help you not only have a better understanding of how your machine works, but also give you a general idea of which parts are ageing, or likely to fail soon.  When checking your equipment, you should be checking for any points which need greasing, any filters which need cleaning or replacing as well as any dust or debris buildup which may need clearing. Doing this will protect seals, motors and other moving parts as well as reduce heat exposure to the machine. If your machine has them, it’s also worth checking foot pedals and control cables to ensure the safe operation of your machine. Cable granulators, for example, require more attention and should be checked more often to ensure airlines and filters are clear. You should also always have 3 sets of blades per [...]

Why a used recycling machine could be a good bet

The thought of investing in used recycling machinery might initially raise concerns, but in reality there can be benefits for some over purchasing new equipment. In this blog post, we will explore the positive aspects of buying used machinery including cost savings, environmental benefits, and the importance of maintenance. Cost Savings It’s no secret that new machinery can be quite costly.  For those just starting out or on a limited budget, a brand new piece of equipment might be preferred but simply not an option.   However if you buy used machinery from the right source, you can still purchase a high-quality and long-lasting product at a great price. This allows you to allocate your budget more efficiently and potentially invest in other areas of your recycling operations. Environmental Benefits Being in the recycling industry, you understand the significance of reusing materials to conserve natural resources. By buying used recycling machinery, you are not only saving yourself money but also can contribute to reducing the demand for raw materials. By engaging in the buying and selling of used machines, we can minimise waste and prevent unnecessary landfill and incineration.  Quality & Maintenance Although some of the machines we sell are sold "as is" withouth any work, the majority of the used equipment we receive is fully reconditioned before resale.   We ensure that it is in excellent working order and take pride in providing high-quality used equipment that both meets your operational needs and looks as new as it can look. Our own McIntyre branded machines are built to last in any event, with some of the first McIntyre machines (dating back to 1975) till working in the industry today.  As such a reconditioned McIntyre machine can [...]
